PROCEDURE ADOPTED FOR THE ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS
Over 1500 Survey Forms were delivered to homes in West
Parley of which 997 have been returned completed. This represents a 65% return in terms
of the number of households replying.
Counting the Votes
In order to be accurate when counting the number of persons
deciding YES and NO to the various questions the following procedure was
adopted.
(a)
Forms with 1 name only were counted as 1 vote.
(b)
Forms with 2 names were counted as 2 votes.
(c)
Forms with 3/4 names were counted as 3/4 votes.
(d)
Forms with no names have not been counted.
The total number of persons voting reached 1755.
It should be noted that some residents did not answer all
the questions and in a few cases replies were ambiguous and not counted. This
accounts for the number of total votes cast being less than the possible maximum
number of votes for each question.
